Tours for one or two weeks

All our packages include rides on an air-conditioned minibus or a limousine, a reliable English-speaking driver/guide (or German-speaking, upon request, depending on availability), the entrance fees for the listed places we are visiting as well as overnight stays in middle class hotels including breakfast.

If you prefer to stay in higher- or lower-class hotels, want to skip or exchange a step of the trip or want to extent your stay for one or two nights at one of the locations, we will gladly adapt the journey to your individual needs.

7 days all-in 1

Wilpattu, Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy

Tour details:

Day 1: After picking you up at the airport or your accommodation nearby, we will drive east to Wilpattu National Park. We will take you to your first accommodation – a camp in the middle of the jungle.

Day 2: After an adventurous overnight stay, we will partake in an equally exciting half-day safari in the national park. You will see the densely overgrown jungle and many exotic animals (such as elephants, leopards, sloth bears and many more). Afterwards we will drive to Anuradhapura and visit the important Buddhist temple Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. In the evening we will head to your beachside accommodation in Trincomalee.

Day 3: After yesterday’s packed schedule, you can relax on one of the white sandy beaches like Nilaveli. Today we will also visit Pidgeon Island National Park. Boats depart every half hour from one of the endless white sandy beaches, taking you to the island. On the island you can go snorkeling, go for a swim or just enjoy the sun. After the relaxing excursion, we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 4: In the morning, on our way to Polonnaruwa, we will visit the country’s most beautiful Hindu temples, Pathirakali Amman Temple and Tirukoneswaram in Trincomalee. In Polonnaruwa you will visit the impressive ruined city Polonnaruwa with the rock temple Gal Vihara and the well-preserved Buddha statues. In the afternoon we will head to your next hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 5: In the morning hours you will climb the Lion Rock or the smaller neighboring rock Pidurangala. You will spend the rest of the day and another night in Sigiriya.

Day 6: In the morning we will drive to Dambulla to visit the impressive cave temples, before heading to your hotel in Kandy, close to the famous Temple of the Tooth.

Day 7: In the morning you will visit the temple in which Buddha’s tooth is kept, making it an important place for the majority of Sri Lanka’s population, the Buddhists.

After exploring the extensive temple, our tour ends. We will bring you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Pinnawella, Kandy, Horton Plains, Ella, Arugam Bay, Yala Nationalpark

Tour details:

Day 1: The trip starts at the airport or your hotel in the surrounding area. Heading towards Kandy, we will stop at the elephant orphanage, where you can observe the elephants at certain times during their daily bathing (times are known to us). We will then continue our trip to Kandy taking you to your hotel.

Day 2: The next morning you will visit the Temple of the Tooth, an important place for Buddhist. After you have explored the large temple grounds, you will head into the highlands to your accommodation.

Day 3: Early in the morning we will take you to Horton Plains National Park. You can explore this wonderful park by foot. If you reach the cliff World’s End before 10 am, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view reaching far into the south. In the early afternoon we will go to Ella.

Day 4: Today our journey leads us through endless tea plantations to the breathtaking Diyaluma Falls and on to Lipton’s Seat, from where you can see the landscape lined with tea plantations from above. In the afternoon we will head towards Arugam Bay.

Day 5: After a night in Arugam Bay, today you can relax and enjoy the sun at the beautiful “Peanut Farm” beach. After the relaxing beach day you will spend another night in Arugam Bay.

Day 6: The next morning we will drive to a lake at which large herds of elephants like to stay. On the way we will make a stop at the “crocodile river”. With a bit of luck, you will see the crocodiles sunbathing in the morning. We will then go to the “elephant rock”, which can be climbed in a few minutes and still offer a fantastic view over a spacious bay of Arugam Bay. Afterwards we will drive to Yala National Park, close to which your accommodation is located.

Day 7: Early in the morning we will start the half-day safari through the large national park, home to elephants, leopards and many other exotic animals.

After the safari our tour is over, and we will bring you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Dambulla, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Adams Peak or Pidurutalagala, Ella, Tangalle, Mirissa, Galle

Tour details:

Day 1: After picking you up at the airport or your accommodation nearby, we will drive to Sigiriya. On the way we will stop in Dambulla to visit the beautiful cave temples. Once arrived in Sigiriya, we will take you to your first hotel.

Day 2: The next day you will climb the famous Lion Rock in the morning hours, with its enormous rock fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites. You can either enjoy the great view for a little longer or climb the less touristic neighboring rock Pidurangala. Of course, you can also choose this rock instead of the Lion Rock. In the evening we will take you to your hotel in Kandy.

Day 3: After you have visited the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy in the morning, we will drive further into the highlands to Nuwara Eliya, where we will have some time to enjoy the beautiful scenery with its tea plantations and mountains. We recommend going to bed early as the next day starts very early.

Day 4: We will begin our ascent of Adam’s Peak (2,243 m high) In the middle of the night. The climb is quite exhausting, but once you reach the summit, the view is unforgettable. ALTERNATIVELY, we can drive to Sri Lanka’s highest mountain, the Pidurutalagala. It is not allowed to visit it by foot, but only by taxi. The view is breathtaking regardless. Afterwards we will go back to the hotel, before making our way to Ella.

Day 5: After a night in Ella, we will head to the beautiful south coast to Tangalle. After the exhausting days before, you can now relax at Tangalle’s spacious dream beach and enjoy the sun. You will spend the night at a beachside accommodation in Tangalle.

Day 6: The next day we will drive to Mirissa, where you can either take part in a whale or dolphin watching tour or enjoy another beach day. In the evening we will drive to nearby Unawatuna, to your beachside hotel.

Day 7: On the last day of this round trip we will visit the beautiful historic town of Galle Fort and the fortress built by Dutchmen.

End of the tour – we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Ella, Yala Nationalpark

Tour details:

Day 1: Our tour starts once we have picked you up at the airport or the surrounding area, heading north to Anuradhapura. We will visit the old town of the former royal city, before taking you to your hotel.

Day 2: After an overnight stay in Anuradhapura, we will visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya and drive towards the east coast to your beachside accommodation in Trincomalee in the afternoon.

Day 3: The next morning we will take you to the beautiful Pidgeon Island National Park. Boats depart every half hour from one of the endless white sandy beaches, taking you to the island. On the island you can go snorkeling, go for a swim or just enjoy the sun. In the evening, we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 4: Today we will visit the country’s most beautiful Hindu temples, Pathirakali Amman Temple and Tirukoneswaram, which are located in Trincomalee, as well as Fort Fredrick fortress. Afterwards, we will drive to Sigiriya.

Day 6: Today we will go to Polonnaruwa, an impressive archaeological ruined city, where we will visit the rock temple Gal Vihara and the well-preserved Buddha statues. In the afternoon we will drive to Kandy.

Day 7: After a night in Kandy, the next morning, we will visit the Temple of the Tooth, an important place for Buddhist. After you have explored the extensive temple grounds, we will drive into the highlands to Nuwara Eliya.

Day 8: Early in the morning we will take you to Horton Plains National Park. You can explore this wonderful park by foot. If you reach the cliff World’s End before 10 am, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view reaching far into the south. In the early afternoon we will go to Ella.

Day 9: The next morning we will show you the beauty of the highlands and take you to waterfalls and tea plantations. In the afternoon we will head to Yala National Park, where we will take you to an Eco Lodge near the park.

Day 10: Today’s safari through the extensive Yala National Park, home to elephants, crocodiles, leopards and numerous exotic animals, starts early in the morning.

Our round trip ends after the safari and we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

10 days beach, animal & nature

Kalpitiya, Wilpattu, Trincomalee, Batticoloa, Arugam Bay, Ella, Horton Plains, Bentota, Unawatuna, Mirissa

Tour details:

Day 1: We will pick you up at the airport or your nearby hotel and take you to Kalpitiya, where you can relax the rest of the day. You will spend the night at your quiet beachside accommodation.

Day 2: The next day starts early in the morning. We will take you to Wilpattu National Park, where a jeep will be waiting for you. The safari begins at sunrise, taking you through the park’s dense jungle and around its many lakes. Here you can observe elephants, sloth bears and leopards in their natural habitat. After the safari tour you will head to the east coast to your beachside accommodation in Trincomalee.

Day 3: The next morning you will visit Pidgeon Island. The beautiful little national park is situated in the turquoise waters, not far from one of the endless white sandy beaches. Boats depart every half hour, taking you to the island. On the island you can go snorkeling, go for a swim or just enjoy the sun. In the evening, we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 4: The next morning, we will leave early to make our way to Arugam Bay. Once there, we will show you both a lake, where large herds of elephants like to stay and the “crocodile river”, where you can usually see some of the huge crocodiles sunbathing. Afterwards we will go to the “elephant rock”, which can be climbed in a few minutes, presenting fantastic views of one of Arugam Bay’s wide bays regardless.  

Day 5: After a night in Arugam Bay, today you can relax at the fantastic “Peanut Farm” beach and enjoy the sun. After the relaxing beach day, you will spend another night in Arugam Bay, before driving into the highlands the next day.

Day 6: In Ella we will visit waterfalls and tea plantations and show you the most beautiful places of the lush green scenery around Ella. In the afternoon we will take you to your hotel near Horton Plains National Park.

Day 7: Early in the morning we will drive to Horton Plains National Park. You will explore this mystical national park by foot. In a 3-hour hike you will reach the cliff World’s End, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view almost reaching to the south coast. However, you should reach the cliff before 10am. Afterwards we will drive to Bentota.

Day 8: The next day is for relaxing and enjoying the sun on the golden sandy beaches, which Bentota is famous for. In the afternoon, we will visit Sri Lanka’s largest sitting Buddha statue in Beruwela and drive to the south coast to Unawatuna.

Day 9: After a night in Unawatuna, we will go on a day trip to Mirissa. Not only is Mirissa a beautiful bay and a big sandy beach but also the starting point for many whale- and dolphin watching tours. You can either spend another day at the beach or go on one of the boat tours to see the dolphins or whales in the wild. In the evening we will bring you back to Unawatuna to your beachside hotel.

Day 10: On the last day we will take you to a turtle sanctuary, before heading to one of the most beautiful beaches of the South (Delawela). In the early afternoon we will pick you up at the beach, which concludes the tour – we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Day 1: We will pick you up at the airport or the surrounding area and head north to Kalpitiya. We will take you to your accommodation right on the beach, where you can relax on your first day.

Day 2: The next day we will drive to Wilpattu National Park, where you will spend the night in a tent in the jungle camp close to the park entrance.

Day 3: The next morning you will either go on a half-day or, if you prefer, full-day safari. You will observe elephants, leopards and many other animals in a beautiful landscape overgrown with jungle and dotted with lakes. Afterwards we will drive to your next hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day 4: In the morning we will visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya as well as the old town of Anuradhapura, before driving on to Sigiriya in the afternoon.

Day 5: In the morning hours you will climb the famous Lion Rock (UNESCO World Heritage) or the smaller, less touristic neighboring rock Pidurangala and enjoy the fantastic view of the palm tree-covered island. We will spend the rest of the day in Polonnaruwa, about an hour away, where we will visit the impressive archaeological ruined city with its Gal Vihara rock temple and the well-preserved Buddha statues. Afterwards, we will bring you back to your hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 6: In the morning we will continue our journey driving towards Kandy. On the way, we will stop in Dambulla to visit the extraordinary cave temple. In the early evening we will reach your accommodation in Kandy.

Day 7: After you have visited the Temple of the Tooth and the large temple grounds in the morning, we will take you to the railway station. While we will take your luggage to Nuwara Eliya by car, you will travel the wonderful route by train crossing the famous Nine Arch Bridge (of course, you can also travel by limousine or minibus). Once you reach Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon, we will pick you up and take you to your accommodation.

Day 8: Early in the morning we will head to the Horton Plains National Park, where you can explore the fascinating landscape of the national park on your own. If you reach the cliff World’s End before 10 am, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view reaching far into the South. In the afternoon we will drive to Ella and use the remaining time to show you the surroundings.

Day 9: After a night in Ella we will drive to Lunugamvehera National Park. On our way through the mountainous landscape full of tea plantations, we will pass the Ravana waterfalls. We will reach your accommodation near the national park in the afternoon.

Day 10: The next morning you can look forward to an adventurous safari through the Lunugamvehera National Park. While the park belongs to the famous Yala National Park, is not as heavily influenced by tourism and offers an equally biodiverse fauna. After the safari we will bring you back to your accommodation.

Day 11: The next morning we will drive to Tangalle on the south coast. Today, you can spend a relaxing day at the spacious, dreamlike sandy beach of Tangalle. You will also spend the night in Tangalle.

Day 12: Today we will visit the small town Tangalle and the Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara, an old Buddhist temple. It was built on a natural rock (205 m high) and is surrounded by four more rocks. In the afternoon we will go to your hotel in Mirissa.

Day 13: Mirissa is not only a beautiful bay with a gorgeous sandy beach, but also the starting point for many whale and dolphin watching tours. You can either spend another day at the beach or go on a dolphin or whale watching tour. Around noon we will drive to our last station in Unawatuna.

Day 14: The next morning we will visit the beautiful historic town of Galle Fort and the fortress built by Dutchmen.

End of the tour – We will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Day 2: Today we will drive to Wilpattu National Park around noon, where you will spend the night in a tent, in a jungle camp, close to the park entrance.

Day 3: The next morning you will either go on a half-day or, if you prefer, full-day safari. You will observe elephants, leopards and many other animals in a beautiful landscape overgrown with jungle and dotted with lakes. Afterwards we will drive to your next hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day 4: In the morning we will visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya as well as the old town of Anuradhapura before driving to Trincomalee on the beautiful east coast in the afternoon.

Day 7: After another night in Trincomalee we will drive to Sigiriya in the morning. On the way there, we will pass Polonnaruwa. The archaeological ruined city, with its rock temple Gal Vihara and the well-preserved Buddha statues, is well worth a stop. In the evening we will continue our journey to Sigiriya.

Day 8: In the morning we will climb the famous Lion Rock (UNESCO World Heritage) or the smaller, less touristic neighboring rock Pidurangala and enjoy the fantastic view of the palm tree-covered island. Around noon we will drive almost all the way to the east coast to Gal Oya National Park.

Day 9: The next morning we will take you to the national park, where you will go on a boat safari on the park’s 78km² large reservation. In this park you will be able to see a lot of exotic birds and, with a little luck, some rather unusually large elephant herds. After the tour concludes, we will drive on to Arugam Bay.

Day 10: Since, in our eyes, Arugam Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches of the country, a beach day is a must do here. Therefore, we will take you to “Peanut Farm Beach” in the morning. In the afternoon we will pick you up again to take you back to the hotel.

Day 11: In the morning we will drive to “Elephant Rock”, a rock from which you have a fantastic view over a spacious bay. If you are lucky, you can even see elephants in the surrounding landscape. Afterwards we will drive into the highlands to Ella.

Day 12: We will spend the whole day in Ella and its surroundings to show you the beauty of the highlands with its endless tea plantations and waterfalls.

Day 13: After another night in Ella we will drive to Unawatuna the next morning. On our way we will pass Sri Lanka’s largest sitting Buddha statue. Of course, we will continue our journey only after a thorough inspection of the statue and temple. In the late afternoon we will reach the south coast and take you to your beachside accommodation in Unawatuna.

Day 14: The next morning we will visit the beautiful historic town of Galle Fort and the fortress built by Dutchmen.

End of the tour – We will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.
