Tours for one or two weeks 

All our packages include rides on an air-conditioned minibus or a limousine, a reliable English-speaking driver/guide (or German-speaking, upon request, depending on availability), the entrance fees for the listed places we are visiting as well as overnight stays in middle class hotels including breakfast.

If you prefer to stay in higher- or lower-class hotels, want to skip or exchange a step of the trip or want to extent your stay for one or two nights at one of the locations, we will gladly adapt the journey to your individual needs.

7 days all-in

Sinharaja, Ella, Horton Plains, Nuwara Eliya, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Wilpattu

Tour details:

Day 1: We will start the tour with a hike through the Sinharaja rainforest, where you can observe both nature and exotic animals by foot. Afterwards we will drive into the highlands to your first accommodation in Ella.

Day 2: In Ella we will visit the tea plantations and the waterfalls such as Ravana Falls. Afterwards we will head to Horton Plains National Park, where your accommodation is located, via “Lipton’s Seat”.

Day 3: We will start early in the morning to the fascinating landscape of the Horton Plains National Park, which you will explore by foot. With a 3-hour hike to World’s End you will reach the World’s End cliff. And if you will be there before 10 a.m., you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Once back at the hotel, we will continue our journey to the next accommodation in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4: In Nuwara Eliya we can visit either the Lover’s Leap waterfalls, Lake Gregory or the mountainous landscape Pidurutalagala. In the afternoon we will drive to Sigiriya.

Day 5: After a night in Sigiriya, we will climb the lion rock or the smaller, neighboring rock Pidurangala in the morning hours. In the afternoon we will drive to Anuradhapura via Dambulla to visit the rock temples.

Day 6: after an overnight stay in Anuradhapura we will visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya. In the evening we will take you to your adventurous tent accommodation in Wilpattu National Park.

Day 7: After a night spent in the middle of the jungle, you will go on a safari tour (half-day/ full-day) to observe the many native animals, such as elephants, leopards, sloth bears, etc. to the Wilpattu National Park.

End of the tour – we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel

10 days all-in 1

Yala, Arugam Bay, Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kalpitiya

Tour details:

Day 1: Early in the morning we will head east to Yala National Park for a safari. After a half- or full-day of exploring the park and observing the elephants, leopards and other animals, we will take you to your accommodation nearby.

Day 2: The next morning we will head to the east coast to Arugam Bay. Today, we will take you to a few places, where you can also see elephants and crocodiles, without going on a safari.

Day 3: The next day will begin more relaxed as we will take you to the beautiful beach “Peanut Farm”, where you can relax for a few hours and go for a swim. Afterwards, we will drive to Elephant Rock, from where you will have a wonderful view over the coast and jungle. We will drive into the highlands to Nuwara Eliya after.

Day 4: Today you will explore the mystical Horton Plains National Park and enjoy the fascinating view, if you reach the World’s End cliff early in the morning.

Day 5: Either we will take you from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy by car or you can choose to take the train over the Nine Arches Bridge. We will take your luggage to Kandy and pick you up at the train station in Kandy.

Day 6: After a night in Kandy we will visit the Temple of the Tooth in the morning. We will then drive on to Dambulla to visit the cave temples. In the evening we will reach your accommodation in Sigiriya.

Day 7: The next day you will climb either the lion rock or the smaller neighbouring rock Pidurangala.

Day 8: After another night in Sigiriya, we will visit the impressive, archaeological ruined city Polonnaruwa with the Gal Vihara rock temple and the well-preserved Buddha statues.

Day 9: After your third night in Sigiriya, we will drive to Anuradhapura in the morning to visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya as well as the old town. Around noon we will head to the west coast to Kalpitiya.

Day 10: Today you will relax at one of the endless and deserted beaches in Kalpitiya. You can also explore the peninsula on your own, of course.

End of the tour – we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel

10 days all-in 2

Beruwala, Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Trincomallee, Anuradhapura

Tour details:

Day 1: early in the morning we will head into the highlands, stopping at Sri Lanka’s largest sitting Buddha statue in Beruwala. Before we will go to the hotel, you will get to see the tea plantations and the completely different landscape of the highlands compared to the coasts.

Day 2: Early in the morning we will take you to the fascinating landscape of the Horton Plains National Park, which you will explore by foot. If you reach the World’s End cliff before 10 a.m., you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. We will be back at the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3: After another night in Nuwara Eliya, we will head to Kandy in the morning. Alternatively, we can take you to the station, so you can travel the distance between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy by train. We will take your luggage to Kandy by car. Once you arrive in Kandy, we will visit the Temple of the Tooth and/or the botanical garden.

Day 4: After a night in Kandy, we will continue our trip to Dambulla to visit the cave temples. After you have explored them extensively, we will drive to your hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 5: In the morning hours, you will climb either the lion rock or the smaller neighbouring rock Pidurangala. The rest of the day will also be spent in Sigirya.

Day 6: In the morning we will drive to Polonnaruwa, the impressive ruined city with the Gal Vihara rock temple and the well-preserved Buddha statues. In the afternoon we will head to Trincomalee on the east coast.

Day 7: After a night in Trincomalee, we will take you to the beautiful Pidgeon Island National Park. Boats depart every half hour from one of the endless white sandy beaches, taking you to the island. On the island you can go snorkeling, go for a swim or just enjoy the sun. In the evening we will bring you back to your hotel.

Day 8: Today we will visit the country’s most beautiful Hindu temples Pathirakali Amman Temple and Tirukoneswaram, located in Trincomalee, as well as the Fort Fredrick fortress.

Day 9: After another night in Trincomalee we will drive to Anuradhapura in the morning to visit the significant Buddhist temple Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and the former royal city Anuradhapura in the surrounding large Dagobas.

Day 10: the tour ends after you have spent the last night in Anuradhapura. We will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

Tour details:

Day 1: Our round trip starts with a drive to the Sinharaja Rain Forest, where you will go on a guided jungle hike. You will see many exotic birds and lizards in this mystical rainforest. Afterwards, we will take you to your accommodation near Udawalawe National Park.

Day 2: In the morning you will be picked up by a jeep to start the safari in the national park to observe the many elephants living in Udawalawe. After the safari, you will have some time in your accommodation before heading to the highlands to your next hotel in Ella.

Day 3: The next morning we will show you the beauty of the highlands and take you to waterfalls and tea plantations.

Day 4: After another night in Ella we will drive to Horton Plains National Park early in the morning. You can explore this wonderful national park by foot and if you reach the World’s End cliff by 10am, you will be rewarded with a fascinating view. Afterwards we will drive to your next accommodation near Adam’s Peak.

Day 5: In the middle of the night begins your ascent to the 2,243 m high Adam’s Peak. It is very exhausting, but once you reach the summit, the view is unforgettable. ALTERNATIVELY, we can drive from Horton Plains National Park to Sri Lanka’s highest mountain, the Pidurutalagala. It is not allowed to visit it by foot, but only by taxi, but the view is just as breathtaking. After Adam’s Peak or Pidurutalagala, we will drive to Kandy. In the afternoon you can explore Kandy on your own.

Day 6: After a night in Kandy, we will visit the Temple of the Tooth in the morning and drive on to visit the cave temples of Dambulla. After you have visited the impressive cave temples, we will drive to your accommodation in Sigiriyia.

Day 7: The next day you will climb the Lion Rock (UNESCO World Heritage Site) or the smaller neighbouring rock Pidurangala. You will spend the rest of the day in Sigiriya.

Day 8: After another night in Sigiriya, we will visit the impressive archaeological ruins of Polonnaruwa with the rock temple Gal Vihara and the well-preserved Buddha statues. In the afternoon we will drive to your hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day 9: In Anuradhapura we will visit the temples Jaya Sri Maha Bodi and Ruwanwelisaya as well as the old town. In the afternoon we will head to your beachside accommodation in Kalpitiya.

Day 10+11: In Kalpitiya you can recover from the exhausting journey and spend 2 relaxing days at the beach. Depending on the season, Kalpitiya and its surroundings also offer whale watching and dolphin watching.

Day 12: After you have had the chance to regenerate, we will drive to Wilpattu National Park, where we will take you to your accommodation: a tent in the middle of the jungle.

Day 13: After an adventurous overnight stay, we will go on a safari the next morning. If you are lucky, you can observe elephants, leopards and sloth bears in their natural habitat. After the safari we will take you back to your accommodation.

Day 14: the tour ends after breakfast and we will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.

14 Tage all-in 2

Ella, Arugam Bay, Gal-Oya Nationalpark, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, Wilpattu Nationalpark

Tour details:

Day 1: starting at the south coast we will head into the highlands to Ella. We will visit the endless tea plantations and the Diyaluma waterfalls. In the evening we will bring you to your first accommodation.

Day 2: The next morning we will drive to Little Adam’s Peak. Although Little Adam’s Peak is “only” 1.140m high, the view is almost as fantastic as from the 2.200 m high Adam’s Peak and the summit can be reached within just 30 minutes. In the afternoon we will drive to Arugam Bay on the east coast.

Day 3: Since, in our opinion, Arugam Bay is home to one of the country’s most beautiful beaches, a beach day is in order. Therefore, we will take you to the “Peanut Farm Beach” in the morning. In the afternoon we will pick you up again and take you back to the hotel.

Day 4: The next morning we will drive to the “Elephant Rock”, from where you will have a great view of a wide bay. If you are lucky, you will even be able to see elephants in the surrounding area. Around noon we will reach your accommodation near Gal Oya National Park.

Day 5: The next morning a boat safari tour will take place on the national park’s 78km² big reservoir. In this park you can see many exotic birds and, if you are lucky, otherwise unusually large elephant herds. After the safari we will drive to your next accommodation in Polonnaruwa.

Day 6: In the morning we will visit the impressive ruined city of Polonnaruwa with the rock temple Gal Vihara and the well-preserved Buddha statues. In the afternoon we will head to your next hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 7: Early in the morning we will climb the lion rock of Sigiriya (UNESCO World Heritage Site) or the smaller neighbouring rock Pidurangala. Enjoy the wonderful view of the palm tree-covered island. You will spend the rest of the day in Sigiriya.

Day 8: After another night in Sigiriya we will drive to the cave temples of Dambulla in the morning. After you have visited the impressive cave temples, we will drive on to Trincomalee on the east coast. We will take you to your beachside accommodation.

Day 9: We will take you to the beautiful Pidgeon Island National Park. Boats depart every half hour from one of the endless white sandy beaches, taking you to the island. On the island you can go snorkeling, go for a swim or just enjoy the sun. In the evening we will bring you back to your hotel.

Day 10: After yesterday’s day at the beach, today is all about culture. We will visit the most beautiful Hindu temples of the country, Pathirakali Amman Temple and Tirukoneswaram, located in Trincomalee as well as the fortress Fort Fredrick.

Day 11: After another night in Trincomalee, you will have this day to yourselves and can spend it at one of the beautiful white sand beaches. Trincomalee is one of the best spots for diving in Sri Lanka – feel free to talk to us, we know the diving bases.

Day 12: After another night in Trinco, we will drive to Anuradhapura the next morning to visit the significant Buddhist temple Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and the former royal city Anuradhapura in the surrounding large Dagobas. In the evening we will go to a hotel nearby.

Day 13: Early in the morning we will drive to Wilpattu National Park, where you will begin the safari. If you are lucky, you can observe elephants, leopards and sloth bears. Afterwards, the jeep will take you to your next accommodation, a tent in the jungle.

Day 14: The tour ends after an adventurous overnight stay and breakfast in the middle of the jungle. We will take you to the airport or to your connecting hotel.
